After BME, young researchers from the association's member institutions will gather at Bucharest's technical university.

Last year, BME hosted EELISA's Scientific Student Competition, modelled on the Hungarian TDK. This year, the SSC will move to a neighboring country, to Universitatea Politehnica in Bucharest on 12-13 June. BME will provide support  in IT development, communication campaign, programme organisation and administration.

The aim of the competition is to encourage students' scientific activities, or as EELISA's official website puts it, it is "the most broadly based and comprehensive form of talent management, a platform for self-education, elite training to become scientists".

A new feature will be the AI section, where papers will be prepared using artificial intelligence.

The challenge is to prepare a 20 to 60-page research report under the guidance of an experienced supervisor, in the field of engineering, architecture, natural sciences, economics or social sciences. The essay must be submitted by 1 May, but before that you must register online by 31 March with a 400-word abstract. At the conference you will be required to hold a 12-15 minute presentation which will followed by an academic debate.

Each research report will be reviewed by two expert evaluators before the event and feedback will be given to the students so that they have the opportunity to respond. The detailed rules can be found here.

The flyer of the 3rd SSC highlights that this is the international equivalent of a competition with a long tradition in Hungary, "almost all the top Hungarian scientists and industrial researchers have participated in this programme", and the judging system and criteria have been developed based on the original.
