BME student recruiters visit Kurdistan Region of Iraq
2025. 01. 08.The delegation was welcomed at a local university by a lecturer who had graduated from BME.
BME is a university that attracts students from all over the world - no less than 11% of its 20,000 students have their origins abroad. A lot of them come from Asia, mainly through the Stipendium Hungaricum Hungarian state scholarship as well as the scholarship programmes of their home countries.
This is why trips such as the one taken last December by Balázs Bokor, assistant professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and Zheer Shexazard, a PhD student at the Faculty of Transportation Engineering and Automotive Engineering, are important. The two-man delegation of BME visited universities and high schools in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to introduce the students to the wide range of studies at BME and the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship opportunities.
Kurdistan Technical Institute, Tishk University and Cihan University, all with a campus in the city of Suleymaniyah, were open to cooperation with the BME. Both lecturers and students followed the presentations with interest. At Cihan University, the delegation was received by Diyari Burhan, a civil engineer and lecturer at the university, who had graduated from BME.
