The Rector of the BME visited the Pujiang Innovation Forum in Shanghai
2024. 09. 11.Hungary was the guest of honour at the international innovation forum.
As a member of the official Hungarian delegation, Hassan Charaf attended the 17th edition of the Pujiang Innovation Forum in Shanghai. The Rector of BME, accompanied by László Lengyel, Vice President of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office NKFIH), Imre Kacskovics, Dean at the Faculty of Science of ELTE, Borbála Schenk, Head of the International Department of NKFIH, Péter Galambos, Vice Rector of the Óbuda University and Károly Pető Vice Rector of the University of Debrecen, also visited the campus of Shanghai University.
Hungary, to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, was the guest of honour at the Pujiang Innovation Forum, held from 7 to 10 September. The 30-member Hungarian delegation included policy makers, scientists, business and academic leaders, according to a preliminary announcement on the NRDI website.
The forum was attended by key players in China's innovation ecosystem, as well as government officials, innovators and academics from around the world.
It focused on issues with a major impact on the future of humanity, from quantum technology to solutions for healthy living, space and ocean exploration, and ethical issues raised by technological progress.
As the guest of honour, Hungary had the opportunity to present its culture, gastronomy and national values, and to organise its own sub-forum. The main theme of the sub-forum was healthy living, Hungarian medical research and innovation.
