From idea to operation: evosoft organises practice-oriented summer university
2024. 08. 12.BME's partner company hosted foreign students through the EELISA university association.
Partnerships with prominent industrial players and intensive international relationships - two of BME's strengths are reflected in its cooperation with Evosoft Hungary Kft. One of the results of this cooperation is the summer university organised by the software developer company.
Evosoft was originally involved in the student exchange programme of EELISA university association, co-founded by BME. Later it went on to organise the one-week English-language summer university, which for the first time hosted three foreign students at the company's Budapest headquarters.
"The programme was based around 3D design and prototyping technologies. The students, from Vietnam, Nigeria and Kenya, were tasked with building a self-propelled labyrinth-solving small car, called a micromouse, including its mechanical, electrical and software parts, with the help of evosoft mentors. We also made them familiar with the company's entire portfolio, from medical technology to industrial automation and to cybersecurity, via lab demonstrations" Katalin Herczeg, evosoft's marketing coordinator for university relations, told bme.hu.
"Compared to traditional, face-to-face training, they were able to immerse themselves much more in creative prototyping, giving them a new, industry-focused perspective on the design process. By the end of the week, they experienced the challenges and the joy of the journey 'from idea to operation'," Ms. Herczeg added.
All this will soon become a subject: the company is developing a practice-oriented course called Rapid prototyping, to be taught by its own developers.
