The international academic and employer reputation of BME has continued to strengthen.

Just over a month after the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) world ranking, the higher education think tank has published this year's European ranking, 'Europe 2025'. Having examined the best universities in 42 countries, it puts BME 247th in Europe and 12th in the Eastern European region.

BME's academic reputation abroad has improved significantly, and its international and Hungarian employer reputation is outstanding. The international embeddedness of the university is reflected in the exceptionally high number of its foreign students, ranking 59th in Europe.

According to analysts,

BME is the most active scientific centre in Hungary today, with the highest number of publications per lecturer.

Among the 15 Hungarian higher education institutions on the list, BME is the first specialized university, only ELTE, the University of Szeged and the University of Debrecen are ahead of it in close competition.

BME has also successfully improved its position from last year in the world ranking published at the beginning of June, moving up some 20 places to 721-730th. The latter is a remarkable achievement, as BME has moved up more than 80 places since 2023, placing it in the top 3% of universities worldwide.
