Over 140 Hungarian and international students will present their entries across 9 categories.

Following its inaugural event in Pisa in 2023, this year Budapest will host the EELISA Scientific Student Competition, a BME initiative that is the international version of Hungary’s 73-year-old TDK competition. The event will take place on June 10-11 in BME’s Building K.

Students from the EELISA Alliance, which comprises 10 European universities, have shown remarkable interest in the competition. This year, the detailed programme features over 140 participants with individual or group projects, a significant increase from last year’s 70 participants. The number of categories has also increased from 9 to 13, including Social Sciences 1-2, Smart Production, Automation, Informatics, Applied Informatics, Innovative Mobility, Architecture, Medicine, Applied Sciences 1-2, Chemical and Bioengineering, and Built Environment.

The competition will be held according to TDK conference rules, with an international jury rating each entry after a preliminary evaluation by two designated experts. The event starts with registration at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, followed by the opening ceremony and presentations starting at 10 a.m. The presentations will run until 5 p.m., including a lunch break. The results will be announced on Tuesday at noon in the Ceremony Hall of Building K.
