NEW NATIONAL EXCELLENCE PROGRAMME (ÚNKP)

In the framework of the New National Excellence Programme (ÚNKP), The Ministry of Culture and Innovation (Supporter) and the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (professional partner) announce applications for grants several times each year and in a number of fields. The purpose of ÚNKP is to support new generation of Hungarian researchers and artists at the start of their scientific or art careers, and to keep them there, and to promote the activities of internationally renowned researchers and artists with the support of the young talents.

DOCTORAL STUDENTS’ EXCELLENCE GRANT PROGRAM (DKÖP)

The overarching purpose of the program launched in 2023 is to support young researchers at the start of their career, while its sub-goal is to deepen and validate cooperation between science and industry by supporting the start of a research career for Hungarian doctoral students on Hungarian State Scholarship (ÁÖ), by deepening existing cooperation between science and industry, by motivating high quality research and innovation output as well as utilisation by the industry, and by promoting science, fostering talent management and other research/innovation-related activities.

COOPERATIVE DOCTORAL PROGRAM (KDP)

KDP wishes to recruit more employees for research-development-innovation, mainly at STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) areas, who wish to add the latest scientific results to their professional skills and are committed to serve the society and the economy with their knowledge. The program offers support for those with doctoral student status, who conduct research at a higher education institution as well as at another company that promotes practical utilisation of their scientific results.

OTKA GRANTS

The purpose of the OTKA research grants announced by the National Research, Development and Innovation Office is to promote the development of Hungarian talents in science, and to extend support for high-quality research. These grants invite applications from individual researchers and research groups, and the support will be available for the next three, four or five years.
