The BME team won at the Gránit Bank University Regatta at Szeged, a co-event of the European Rowing Championship.
The team of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics at the Gránit Bank University Regatta at Szeged, a co-event of the European Rowing Championship, held between 25-28 April.
The competitors of the Széchenyi István University took the second place and the students of Corvinus University of Budapest came in third.
Zsolt Bartha, deputy director of the BME Physical Education Centre said that the Szeged triumph is due to a tighter cooperation between BME’s Rowing Club and the Hungarian Rowing Association among other things.
The University Regatta is Hungary’s contribution to the long tradition that university rowing enjoys in several countries. There were some spectacular results at the competition, however we find the greatest joy in the numbers of young Hungarian students that are interested in rowing
